Navi Mumbai airport will be the India’s first Green Field International airport

The much awated Navi Mumbai airport will be second airport in Mumbai which is now going to complete its work soon. PM Narendra Modi lay the foundation stone of the long overdue airport project at Navi Mumbai on Sunday is going to complete its construction by 2022 .This airport will be 1st Green field airport  with all ultra modern facility which will be constructed with in 1116 hectares will be the area

The Navi Mumbai airport will be having two parallel runways. Aircraft like A318 aircarp and B747 can be accommodated. During Dec 2019 it will be operative with 10 MPPA capacities. The airport was planned during the Vajapayee Govt now going to be starting its construction. This certainly will reduce the load of the Saviji chatrapati airport which is running its full capacity and now providing facility to almost 55 flights per hour.

The Hyderabad based GVK Group had led the consortium that modernized and re-developed Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in 2006. Mumbai International Airport Pvt Limited (MIAL), the same consortium, has a 74 per cent stake in the Navi Mumbai International Airport. This Greenfield airport is being constructed at Ulwe Kopar near Panvel, and like the current international airport, will get both international and domestic flights.16500 Core rupees will be invested during this construction. During this occasion the CM of Maharastra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis has told it will increase the GDP of Maharastra at least 1 % and It will handle nearby  60 millions passengers per year.
